He has over 20 years experience dealing with all aspects of general Private Client work, including Will Drafting, Inheritance Tax Planning, Estate Administration, the creation and administration of Trusts and Power of Attorney and Deputyship applications. He has acted as an Executor, Trustee and Attorney and as a Deputy for clients who no longer have the capacity to deal with there own affairs.

He believes it is a privilege to be able to help clients to sort out their affairs, for the benefit of their families, close friends and others who are important to them, at what can often be a particularly difficult time.

Richard is a member of Solicitors for the Elderly.

Examples of how Richard has helped clients include:

Richard has prepared wills for couples so as to protect a share of their home from being from being lost due to the payment of care fees or the remarriage of the survivor, following the death of the first of them.

He has prepared Lasting Powers of Attorney so as to allow the maker’s children to access his funds to provide for the best possible care for their father.

He has acted as a Trustee of a Trust set up by a mother to invest and look after the funds for the potential benefit of a daughter who was not able to safely look after the funds herself and so as to not affect her continuing entitlement to means tested benefits.

Richard has administered both small and large estates with a thorough and considerate approach.

Away from the office ...

Away from the office Richard is married with two ‘teenage’ children, who both attend local schools. He is the Club Secretary for a local Junior Football Club, but prefers spending his time on the training pitch as the coach of one of the teams. Richard is a long standing member of the Bournemouth Law Society’s cricket team and can turn his hand to most traditional sports. He also enjoys walking and gardening, although his garden may beg to differ!
